Start »» This is a website about me. I am just this girl, who works on open source web based education stuff, and drinks too much. I write mundane crap about things I do. If you're interested in things about me in list format, go here. You can also send me email, or subscribe to my rss feed. My new gpg key id is 0xA110DDD2, and my old (not quite yet deprecated) gpg key id is 0xA30EC22B I have stuff elsewhere, you can find a handy aggregate at mjollnir.org This blog is syndicated on: The image you see above you rotates from a pool. Since these are all photos of me, none of them were taken by me. (Except the silhouette of me standing in front of a window with a kitten on my shoulder. That one is clearly me taking a photo of myself in the mirror) Credit goes out to the people who took them. Feel free to reload the page and look at random images until you run out or get sick of it. I give thumbs up to: vex for hosting my sorry ass, lurbs for making mail go, and serendipity for writing such fine blog software and allowing me to hack it to pieces. I would say treating people like that (as terrorists) is terrorism in and of itself.
http://madduck.net/blog/2008.09.04:new-zealand-terrorism Unfortunately, I can believe this is happening here.
Parihaka wasn't that long ago, or even closer to home for some of these 'terrorists' neither were the raids on Maungapohatu. Its shitty we don't seem to be learning from our mistakes. It's not the party of the government that matters. It's the size. An overbearing government will do these sorts of things.
While it's true that a larger government will be more overbearing, it's also true that the number of seats held by politicians who are more likely to vote in favour of passing this sort of legislation makes the problem worse as well.
See: http://october15thsolidarity.info/node/217 Also don't forget to rally all the .nz'ers you can in London to get them to enrol and vote as well! It's apparently really easy with the new elections.govt.nz web site.
hI! i'm from Europe... i considered New Zealand to one of the safest spots on the planet.... isn't it right now?
