bitsey update:

- I am far far too overloaded right now and there isn't really an end in sight. Need to learn to say no.
- zomg. Brenda and I are going to oscon. Fucking yay!
- I wish so so so so much I was at debconf right now. There are millions (ok, exaggeration) of people I would love to see. Particularly madduck, who, even though I asked politely, Andrew declined to smooch for me.
- mahara.org is finally live.
- andypants is coming back to Catalyst soon! This is excellent news.
- I have a giant dark purple bruise on my ass from weekend debauchery. I need to get a photo taken.
- Mischief Bad Group has moved to Sunday Roast rather than Sunday Breakfast starting this weekend. This is good as I can't deal with Sunday Breakfast in winter, but sitting in the courtyard at the Matterhorn from the early afternoon and drinking red wine under the heaters is seriously appealing.
- Dysfunctional naming scheme. Total lack of ability to call people by their names because it makes them too real. Instead I have to create creative descriptive (and often elaborate) names for them. And then when other people refer to them by name in front of me it's shocking.

I spent today sitting at The Matterhorn with Geoff and laptops trying to make Mahara mysql compatible.

And I think it's 99% there now, needs extensive testing and there's probably some bugs remaining, but we fixed a huge amount of postgres specific stuff.

There was a large amount of fury though and it required a vast amount of coffee, dinner, booze, and chocolate.

The Matterhorn have started doing Dirty Laundry on Monday nights again. Last night Samuel Flynn Scott played, and I went along with a few people. I very nearly stayed home, I was quite comfortable and didn't really want to have a late night on Monday, but I was bribed into going with a glass of wine. Yes, it's that easy.

Anyway I was really glad I went. We were even treated to an acoustic version of Damn The River, as well as a few songs off Horse Power that The Phoenix Foundation almost never play live.

But now I'm tired.

Last night was the first meeting of the NZ Chapter of LinuxChix, we met at the new chocolate place on Willis Street and then went to Mojo and drank wine.

We managed to:

Agree on a mission statement
Agree on the policy relating to men (they're welcome, if they want to come to meetings they must be known to one of us first (eg on the mailing list or irc))
Agree on a tentative date for an install fest (March 31st)
And then take ourselves off to the Matterhorn and get drunk.

Why do I always wake up so early when I go out drinking? 4:30am is not a good time to start the day.

Life has been just a little bit too chaotic recently, I feel as though I'm a little bit out of control.

Yesterday I moved my bedroom furniture around. I am trying to create less chaotic spaces to inhabit. It's much nicer now.

I think I need to spend less time rampaging and more time being at home doing interesting things like reading.

Yesterday afternoon was far too rampagey and then I went to Matterhorn and made a dork out of myself by hitting on a staff member (who as it turns out, has a girlfriend).

I have a giant bruise on my leg from being bitten during a grass squabble and today I have a hangover.

I need to get up and sort myself out and go to Auctores Malorum Breakfast at The Recovery Room.

Last night I met my mother at the Matterhorn for Sunday Roast, which was fantastic. I haven't had a Matterhorn dinner disappointment yet, although I'm not convinced about their breakfast.

After that, we saw Giselle. I had proclaimed that Giselle was my favourite traditional ballet, but I think I had morphed bits of Giselle and Swan Lake in my head, because I had the idea that Albrecht is tricked into marrying (or promising to) someone else, which of course is Odile, from Swan Lake.

At any rate, the second act was beautiful. The first act dragged on a bit, I get a bit sick of peasants. Albrecht was fantastic.

I've spent the last few years feeling like my group of friends were made up of splinters all over the place. It's pretty nice having a strong sense of belonging to a close group of people and feeling so comfortable around them that it's like family. I spent an entire 24 hours with MBG this weekend and it was lovely.

I had a bad Matterhorn breakfast experience on Sunday though and I've been in the wars a bit with some bruises and scrapes from the toy car. There are also sausage related burns on my wrists. I really, really wanted to eat the sausages nownow.

Our film appears to have won the audience favourite award for the second year running. That's pretty cool. Wellington finalists don't appear to be listed yet.

I just had a very strange dinner & drinks at Matterhorn with Ani and Peter and Tom, where I was sure the menu said Roast Cock (it in fact said Coast Rock, referring to, I think, oysters), and everyone was playing innuendo and sometimes not so subtly and the waiter brought us free scotch shots and had one with us and I have become completely obsessed with this music video.
