Sorry, I've been away/drunk/busy/obsessive.
I had christmas in the Sounds with my parents, which was ace. New Years here with a small group of friends and lots of muntery. Too much silly holiday boozery all around.
My sister addicted me to a TV show by lending me 4 seasons on DVD and I borrowed the fifth off someone else. I'm not going to elaborate any more because it's embarassing, but for the first time since I was about 12, I have an incredibly huge stupid obsessive crush on an actor.
Hotttt.tttttttt.....ttt.
So, errr...... There will be more inactivity around here while I try to watch every movie he's ever made.
I'm going to LCA soon, I'll try blog more while I'm there, it'll hopefully be well removed from The Crush.

After seeing Mr Benchley on TV last night, I have become completely obsessed with trying to remember this quote from Mrs Parker and the Vicious Circle.
Dorothy tries to kill herself by slitting her wrists, and Mr Benchley goes to visit her in the hospital, takes some blue ribbon which he ties around the bandages on her wrists. He tells her she's selfish, stupid, a whole lot of other things.
She replies, 'is that all?' and he says, 'I only know <n> adjectives'
So what I want is the exact quote. And I spent about an hour last night trying to find it and couldn't. I may have to rent the movie again just to figure it out.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose is on TV and I just vaguely glanced at it (I like the TV on for background noise) and noticed Campbell Scott was in it..
And my first reaction was Oh my god, It's Mr Benchley! Talk about typecasting.
Or it could be my complete and ongoing obsession with that movie (and Dorothy Parker in general)

I just watched Hero, and I found it terribly upsetting.

There were a couple (read: at least 3) naughty people who didn't fill out the forms. Comments ranged from Yarrr to bitching about Keira Knightley in equal volumes.

It occurs to me that I have not updated for awhile, so here are some things.
1. You may notice there is a new sideblock, 'mischief bad group!'. That's right, our opinion is so important that you get to see what we rate various cafes around Wellington for breakfast. It's not finished yet, but it's started.
2. I have watched a million movies recently, some good, some not so good. Among the ones considered good, are Howl's Moving Castle, Dark Days, and Freaks.
3. Started reading again! I am reading more Murakami (Dance Dance Dance)
4. Work. Occupying a lot of my head right now.
5. I am so unbelievably fucking sick of spending time and effort being nice and/or trying to help people, only to have them turn around and slap me in the face. Enough!
6. Stereolab!
7. Planning a trip to stay with my sister in Christchurch in a few weeks. Downtime required.

The fact that they're making Clerks 2?
Best making of ever, including Kevin Smith getting down to Hey by The Pixies.

Friday night was far, far too much wine and consequently I need to detox. I've been pretty social lately, meeting people for drinks most days after work and it came to a head on Friday night. So I've decided no drinking during the week for a bit, and no drinking at all until my birthday.
Yesterday S & I were helping people move, but it ended up meaning that the boys just took my car and lifted heavy things while S & I swanned around Thorndon. We found a beautiful cafe for breakfast, Mezzaluna, that I am definitely going back to, and then sat in the sun in the gardens for awhile until it was time to retrieve the car, and then on the way back I had a ridiculously expensive accident at Who Slapped Johnny which is nonetheless very exciting as it involves something being made for me.
And then there was back to back Kill Bill, but no drinking last night.
This morning was breakfast at epic with Mischief Bad Group and then looking for wine glasses, as the ones I bought a few weeks ago seem to be extremely breakable, one even broke in my mouth at the last party.
Next week I am going to have detox and eating properly and getting enough sleep. I think every time I think about having a glass of wine I am going to replace it with miso soup.

We just watched Stir of Echoes and it was scary! I had to bite my flatmate's feet.

I should not watch Amélie, it gives me ideas that could easily get me in trouble.

Well, I went to see Willy Wonka last night, and it was fantastic. I loved it. We went to cheap Tuesday at the Embassy which meant we got the huge fancy leather seats for $10 each, so we had a glass of wine, and relaxed.
I was worried I would fall asleep as it was the 8:45pm screening and I am a nana (and was recovering from the previous night's conference drinks), but I was wide awake the whole way through. Even with wine.
I am pretty tired now though.
